OTHER ASSOCIATIONS


Our Mission Statement is as follows.

This is a free and voluntary organization, dedicated to the preservation and protection of the bountiful natural fish and wildlife resources of the State of Oklahoma. The goals of the association will be to encourage a stronger camaraderie among the Oklahoma State Game Wardens; to encourage and developed high standards and practices of professional wildlife law enforcement; to promote and increased public awareness of the activities performed by the Oklahoma State Game Wardens; to encourage public support and participation in natural resource protection; and to accomplish these purposes without disrupting the normal duties of the Oklahoma State Game Wardens.


OKLAHOMA HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE SCHEDULE

 If a phone number is not listed, pre-registration is not required. Call (405) 521-4636 or (405) 522-4572 for more information. Special arrangements and testing procedures can be made for persons with disabilities. Contact the Wildlife Department two weeks prior to course if person has disabilities which require special arrangements.

There are two types of classes available. The “regular” 8-hour classroom courses and “home study” courses.

  • Regular (8-hour) classes only require the student to attend the class and take a test.

  • Home study classes do not have as many classroom hours, but require significant time (8-12 hours) outside of class to complete the workbook or internet portion of the class. After completing the home study portion, the student will still be required to attend four hours of class, including testing. The four hour class may be broken into two days. You must attend both days of the class in order to take the test.

Oklahoma accepts hunter education certificates from all states so if you can't find a course near you, you may want to consider a course in a neighboring state. Click one of the state below to see if they are offering a course near you.
