Game Warden Of The Year
Jerry Henry

Jerry Henry Officer of the Year 2007Officer Henry is a twenty-two year veteran of the department and was hired fresh out of college at the age of 21. At the time of employment, he was the youngest officer ever hired by the department. Officer Henry’s first assignment was in Okmulgee County, where he resided for four years, before getting to return to his home county of Sequoyah, where he was born and raised and continues to reside with his wife and two grade school age girls.

Officer Henry enjoys teaching youth related activities to our young outdoorsman, such as hunter education, shotgun marksmanship training, fishing clinics and taking youth hunting on the special youth only hunts.

Officer Henry’s proudest accomplishments have been investigating the illegal commercial and interstate activity of wildlife violations. He has worked with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agents and several state wildlife agencies investigating wildlife violations. Prosecutions of these investigations have resulted in several thousand dollars of fines, seized equipment and wildlife. Several species of wildlife have been involved in these investigations such as fresh water mussels, black bear, whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, wild turkey, bobcats and spoonbill catfish.

Henry’s hobbies include bow fishing and bow hunting, especially whitetail deer and big game in the Rocky Mountain west states.
