Our Mission Statement is as follows.

This is a free and voluntary organization, dedicated to the preservation and protection of the bountiful natural fish and wildlife resources of the State of Oklahoma. The goals of the association will be to encourage a stronger camaraderie among the Oklahoma State Game Wardens; to encourage and developed high standards and practices of professional wildlife law enforcement; to promote and increased public awareness of the activities performed by the Oklahoma State Game Wardens; to encourage public support and participation in natural resource protection; and to accomplish these purposes without disrupting the normal duties of the Oklahoma State Game Wardens.

The Oklahoma State Game Warden Association supports many worthwhile programs and events including the ODWC Wildlife Youth Camp, Oklahoma College Scholarship program, a legal defense fund, NAWEOA, NAWEM(National Wildlife Enforcement Memorial and Museum, and Operation Game Thief just to name a few.  Click here for more information on each of the programs including photos and a downloadable scholarship application.

2009 Summer Banquet Coming Soon!!! This year's banquet will be held in McAlester on June 6th. Details are being put together as we speak. A packet with registration details should be coming soon so make sure your mailing address and your email address if you have one are correct on the OSGWA website. Contact your district rep to update your information. Shane Fields is the banquet chairman this year and he and Jay Harvey are putting together a slide show to be shown during the banquet so if you have any old or current Warden photos to be used get them to Jay or Shane asap. Email photos to harvey4@hughes.net or if there are alot put them on a cd or zip drive and mail them to Jay at 37449 US 70 Bennington, 74723. We are looking forward to seeing everybody at this year's banquet.

 

 

Department Honor Guard Participates
As State Honors Six Fallen Officers

OSGWA Honor GuradFriday morning, May 9, members of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Honor Guard participated in the Fortieth Annual Oklahoma Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Service. Along with honor guards from across the state, they were there as Oklahoma took time to honor the service and sacrifices of its law enforcement officers. The service was conducted at the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Memorial located on the west grounds of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, 3600 N. M. L. King Avenue in Oklahoma City.
